Loggerhead ships an MCP server. It gives your coding tool five read-only tools: search logs, query metrics, search traces, get one trace, and get the receiver addresses. The server talks to the Loggerhead engine on your Mac over 127.0.0.1. Nothing leaves the machine.

One-click add is coming

Today you point the tool at the loggerhead-mcp program and the engine’s local address. The app will soon do this for you with one click on the Collectors page.

Find the engine address

Open Collectors → Local OTLP receiver → Connection. The API row shows the address the MCP server needs, for example http://127.0.0.1:54321. The port changes when the app restarts, so copy it fresh.

Add the server

1. Open Cursor Settings → MCP.
2. Click Add new MCP server.
3. Paste this configuration. Replace the address with the one from the Collectors page.

4. Save. Cursor shows loggerhead with a green dot when the server runs.

Try it

In the chat, ask about a failing request in your app. Cursor calls the Loggerhead tools and answers from your logs and traces.
